r3: flying general. this one should adore two turns for the underrated d wayne baker.

r5: great romancer. post sucks, trainer can't win first time out and the breeding screams longer. that's wwhy we get 15/1 for kent d. and craig lewis. worth a flyer.

r6: continental lu. probably overmatched but the price will be right for this hard trying mare who ran much better than looked last out vs. shalini.

r8: crash mcgoon. garcia will have to avoid the major ground loss from the 10-hole, but this one should be set to fire a good one routing for the first time.

heartbreak as flying general loses by a dirty nose at 7/1 to a big longshot. it's 4 mins to post in the fifth- in addition to playing great romancer, i can't believe fisherman's friend is 9/2. he should be 3/1 or so as lago maggiorre is a false favorite/second choice.

not bad. another second with continental lu at 13/1. we got $10.40 to place on flying general and now $8.60 to place on 'lu. try to pick up the last race with magoon.

good question-- i did not watch the replay and only saw the charts. it must have been a terrible foul, b/c the horse won by 6 lengths! can't say for sure, but i bet it has something to do with matt garcia, who is not the darling of the stewards and other riders. they'll take down garcia at a drop of a hat, whereas they'll let stevens and mike smith, julie krone get away with murder.
